Where do I Start?
If it’s your first time visiting, you might want to start at the first page, which is here.
How to Follow along at Home
I upload new pages every Tuesday and Friday. You can bookmark the site, but you lead a busy lifestyle (I’m assuming a little here) and it’s not really reasonable to ask that you remember the schedule of everybody publishing on the web. Fortunately, there are a number of ways you can be notified when a new page of Machiavelli is posted to the site.
If you want to be notified when new pages get posted:
You can subscribe to the RSS feed (what’s an RSS feed?)
You can get notifications on Facebook
You can follow me on Twitter: @don_macdonald
If LiveJournal is how you roll, you can follow the LiveJournal feed.
Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions at all.
About the Artist
I am an artist who lives in Boston. I like drawing and painting things on paper, I like history, and I like comics. Hence, this web site. The current comic is a fictional biography of Machiavelli and it will run for about 170 pages or so.
About Machiavelli
Niccolò Machiavelli, a mid-level diplomat in the fifteenth-century city of Florence, was, ironically, not adept at the office politics of city government. On the contrary, he served his city with distinction and it was only after a regime change forced him out of office, that he retired to his farm and wrote the political treatises for which he is widely known, The Prince and The Discourses. Machiavelli, a graphic novel based on the life of Niccolò Machiavelli, focuses on the disparity between the widely held perception of Machiavelli as an evil opportunist and the actual story of his life.
But don’t take my word for it. Read the comic.
Buying Prints and Other Cool Stuff
You can buy a print of any page that you like at a variety of sizes at the store. You can also buy shirts or mugs if that’s more your speed.
